Lee Know from Stray Kids smiling

Hello everyone!!! Welcome to another blog post.

I know, I know. It’s been forever since I’ve done a post and truth be told…I forgot I had a blog again. Really need to create a schedule for posting so I don’t forget again…

Anyway, Happy New Years, Valentine’s Day, Black History Month, Ramadan, and Lunar New Year (and every other holiday I missed). Damn, I missed a lot of holidays and celebrations.

As you can tell from the title of this post, I will be showing images and pics of current and previous crochet projects because I haven’t done a crochet related blog post in FOREVER.

I’ve finished a ton of projects (at least that’s how it feels like) since my last post and I’m excited to share each project with you guys (while also sharing a bit of crochet business news).

Onto the projects!!!

Bluey

  • Crochet body of a Bluey plushie
  • Crochet Bluey Plushie
  • Crochet Bluey Plushie

This is one of the gifts I made for my friends, a Bluey plushie. It was my first time making a plushie, let alone doing amigurumi and let me tell you; I was struggling BIG TIME.

I wasn’t necessarily struggling with the pattern instructions; it was more me struggling to grip the pieces of the plushie after they got to a certain size and using my creative abilities to modify the pattern when I realized the plushie wasn’t turning out the way I intended it to. Bluey was going to be way bigger than she looks in the images if I had followed the pattern to a T, so it was a good call on my side to modify the pattern a bit for size control.

For my first time making a plushie and using the amigurumi method, I would like to say that I didn’t do as bad as I thought I would. Sure, there are several areas where I could have done better, but she came out cute and my friend loved it. He loves Bluey (I do too) and since he was graduating soon, I decided to crochet the plushie for him.

She looks a bit derpy, but that’s part of her charm. Despite the initial challenges of learning how to read a pattern and trying to figure out how certain parts were supposed to turn out, I had a lot of fun making the plushie and want to make more in the future.

I’m so glad he liked the gift because I was scared he wasn’t going to like it and that I would have wasted my time. Thankfully my friends are kind and love anything I make them, so I’m sure he’s going to enjoy the plushie for a long time.

Beanie and Purse

  • Green and grey crochet bag with flowers inside
  • Green and grey crochet bag with dark green crochet beanie
  • Dark green crochet beanie
  • Green and grey crochet bag lying flat on surface

These gifts were also for a friend that was graduating. I had to make sure I got their gifts out the way first before I worked on anyone else’s because who knew when I was going to see them again.

Anyway, for the bag, I used two different shades of green and a grey that looks like silver because my friend’s favorite color is green and he asked for silver as well (that shade of grey was the closest to silver I was going to get). Then, because I caught myself being extra and wanting the bag to be sustainable, I hand-sewed a beige lining into the bag. Hopefully I sewed it well enough so that it doesn’t come undone anytime soon and it actually helps to make the bag last longer and maintain its shape.

As for the beanie, I used the same darker shade of green I used for the bag to make the entirety of the beanie. This friend likes wearing hats and beanies and I thought I would add to the collection with a beanie of his favorite color. He’s expressed several times how much he loves the beanie (and said that it got a lot of compliments as well) and I’ve seen him wear the beanie almost every time I’ve seen him after his graduation.

I still need to write him a friend letter though (I wrote the Bluey friend a letter and planned on doing it for all my friends), even if it’s months late. I’m sure the letter would make his day, so I’ll get working on that soon.

Loaf Cat

  • Grey crochet loaf cat
  • Back of grey crochet loaf cat

Ah yes, the loaf cat. I had always wanted to make one of these but didn’t know how. I was also too scared of not being able to do it correctly, but I’ve changed my mind set about challenges and now enjoy doing certain things outside of my comfort zone.

But I digress.

This friend of mine loves cats and has a cat of his own so because I didn’t feel like crocheting an airplane (he also loves planes), I decided to finally make a loaf cat. Even though there were free patterns on YouTube, I decided to help another small business owner out and purchase their pattern.

It was super easy to follow, and I didn’t have to change the pattern like I did with the Bluey plushie. Making the loaf cat has got to be a close second favorite project because of the butt hole. I don’t know why, but plushies with butt holes are so cute to me and I was so happy to be able to put a butt hole on the loaf cat.

I’m weird as hell, I know.

Thankfully, this friend only wanted one loaf cat, so I didn’t have to make another one that night (I was tired and desperately wanted to go to sleep, but also wanted to be done with his gift before I slept).

Since I still have the pattern, I might make more loaf cats just because. They are cute gifts and who wouldn’t love a loaf cat plushie?

I do have to add that I ended up having to glue the eyes to the yarn because I couldn’t get the back of the safety eyes to secure the eyes properly. It was a strong glue so hopefully they don’t fall out any time soon.

Spiderman Car Hanging

  • Crochet Spiderman car hanging on the middle mirror of a car
  • Picture of a small crochet Spiderman hanging upside down on a crochet web

This project right here takes the cake for being my favorite project. Just look at how tiny and cute he is!!! Plus, the tutorial was free on YouTube, and it didn’t take me too long to make (maybe an hour).

I have a friend who really loves Spiderman and everything he stands for, so of course I had to make her a Spiderman Car Hanging. She literally has Spiderman all over her dorm walls, has watched all the Spiderman movies, and read all the comics. She is in love with him and honestly, I don’t anyone could ever come close to her love for Spiderman.

This little guy was slightly difficult to make because he is so tiny. My fingers felt too big at some points when I was making him, and my hands aren’t even that big. As a matter of fact, people consider my hands to be small, so I can’t image how difficult it would’ve been for someone with larger hands.

Anyway, the little guy required way more stuffing than I thought he would (a lot of the plushies required a lot more stuffing than I thought they would) and it was a bit difficult to stuff his arms and legs since their openings were so small. Good thing the content creator I was watching had a solution for stuffing them.

The only part that didn’t go too well was trying to sew the web to Spiderman. The yarn kept sliding out from the areas I was sewing them in so instead of repeatedly trying something that wasn’t working, I got the glue again and glued the wed to Spiderman.

Another quick prayer that the glue holds well for this project.

Granny Square Sweater

  • Red and black crochet granny square sweater
  • Red and black granny square sweater

Okay, we’ve finally reached the point in this post where I’m showing something that I made for myself.

I started working on this sweater in 2025 and never finished it because I forgot I was even working on it. Sometimes, it would briefly pop into my mind only to leave just as quickly. Then, recently, when I was having a bad insomniac night, I decided to work on the sweater until my body felt tired enough to sleep.

I finished the sweater within a few days (mainly because I wasn’t able to sleep for those days) and I actually plan on wearing it to my class today. The sleeves long a bit longer than I planned for them to be, but I believe I can fix that without having to destroy the completed sweater.

Hint: it involves elastic thread and the cuffs of the sweater.

This sweater is giving me alt/rocker vibes, and I’m tempted to add safety pins across the sweater just to play into that vibe. Alt-styling is my dominant aesthetic anyway, and I’m so excited to have created something in my aesthetic rather than buying it out of a store.

The entirety of the sweater is made out of varying sizes of granny squares, and the sleeves alternate with each other (one sleeve has a black cuff, the other has a red cuff based on the ending color of the last granny square). The sweater also seems heavier than I planned for, but I don’t mind that, especially with the cold weather my area has been having recently.

Hopefully, it’ll keep me warm.

Alt-designed Valentine’s Cat Hats

  • Black crochet cat hat with a red crochet heart in the middle and safety pins on the corners
  • Black crochet cat hat with a red crochet heart in the middle and safety pins on the corners
  • Black crochet cat hat with a red crochet heart in the middle and safety pins on the corners

Ah, the last item from my recent crochet projects.

This one is actually on my Etsy and on eBay for sale. It’s a fairly simple design that any crochet artist can recreate, but it’s the first design I’ve made for the re-branding of my crochet business.

Before, I was just making whatever came to mind and putting it on my Etsy, but that wasn’t getting me anywhere. So, I decided to figure out an audience for my brand and start making items that spoke to me. Hence, the alt/goth/emo look of this design. I’d like to appeal to the alt community with my crochet projects, so from now on, most of my creations will be alt/goth/emo based.

I made these cat hats for Valentine’s Day but sadly didn’t get a sale. They are still up on my Etsy and eBay account if anyone is interested in purchasing one or several.

For this project, I learnt how to crochet a heart and discovered that it’s not as difficult as I was making it in my head. I’d never tried making a heart because my brain couldn’t wrap around the logistics of crocheting the rounded sides. Turns out, as always, I was thinking too hard and that if there’s a will, there’s a way for everything.

Anyway, if you’ve made it this far, thank you for supporting me and believing that I’m worth your time.

That’s it for this blog post!!! Be sure to check out my other posts and if you’re interested in purchasing a cat hat, I’ve pasted the links to both Etsy and eBay below:
