Hello everyone!!!
As you can tell by the title, this page is simply going to be more facts about the person behind this blog: me.
Feel free to skip this article if it doesn’t appeal to you.
To begin, I’m a college student in her early 20s that is working on their master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. After spending years struggling with my own mental health, I decided that I wanted to help others with their mental health struggles and truly help them to become better versions of themselves. In other words, I plan on becoming a therapist in the future.
Outside of studying and being obsessed with psychology, I live a very homely life. I’m probably one of the most introverted people you’ll ever meet and like to spend a lot of time by myself. Which means that a lot of my hobbies aren’t social activities.
As mentioned in my previous post, I love doing a lot of creative things such as singing, reading, writing, crocheting, and painting, all of which will make appearances on my blog (and more). And while these activities could be turned social, I typically do them in the comfort of my room, by myself, alone.
Even though I’m a deep introvert, I do enjoy spending time with my close friends and watching movies, going on adventures, or just enjoying their company while I work on something else. I just happen to prefer being by myself most of the time.
Hopefully that makes sense.
I love listening to all kinds of music no matter the genre or language. My favorite languages to listen to are Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic, Russian, and French. As you can tell, I’m all over the place music wise. Even though I said I listen to different genres, I’m not a big fan of mainstream rap and country (sorry country and rap lovers!!!).
There’s just something about rap and country that just doesn’t vibe with me. Of course, there are songs in every genre and language I don’t like, but something about those genres in general just don’t rock with me.
Let’s see, what other information can I give about myself?
Hmm…
Languages!!!
As you can probably tell, I love languages and everything to do with them. I don’t discriminate. So much to the point where I’ve decided to learn other languages. Currently, I’m studying Spanish, Korean, and Japanese. As expected, since my native language is English, I’m picking up Spanish way faster than Korean and Japanese. That isn’t to say that I’m not getting anywhere though. Just…taking the scenic route with learning languages. My goal is to be multilingual and maybe learn some other languages in the future.
Yes, me learning these languages directly contributes to the kind of music I listen to. Yes, music is part of the reason I decided to learn these languages. Yes, I use music to help learn phrases and words in these target languages.
This isn’t to say that I don’t have other reasons for learning these languages though. I’m learning Spanish because I’m of Hispanic/Latine descent and like honoring my ancestry. I’m learning Korean because K-Pop changed my life in so many ways and inspires me to this day. I’m learning Japanese because it’s my first love language and country wise and a secret third thing I may reveal later [teehee :)].
Random fun fact time:
- I wanted to be a singer/songwriter before anything else (I may still go for it)
- I’ve been crocheting for 8-9 years
- I’m allergic to fruits, veggies, and nuts
- Prefer headphones over earbuds
- Coffee for life!!!
- I’m unfortunately a very smiley person (shameful, I know)
- My favorite playlist has over 500 songs on it
That’s all for now!!!
I know this post was kinda all over the place; my apologies, I’m trying to find my rhythm, please bare with me.
Thank you for reading my post and I’ll see you in the next one!!!
